Photosynthesis and the Law of Conservation of Mass
This is an activity we did today to help the boys understand the photosynthesis equation. I thought it was pretty cool. Ben adhered the punched circles for the CO2 and H2O while Nathan adhered the sugar and O2. It made it pretty clear that although the process is quite complex, matter is neither destroyed or created and that O2 results.
Nathan's recent drawings
Nathan has been inspired by a story, "Babes in Toyland" from John's childhood book, Walt Disney's Fantasyland from the pictured four-book collection . Using pencil, a black Sharpie and oil pastels, he has created the following four drawings.
Writing Assignments
We are still using IEW's writing lessons, but we skipped some weeks. I thought I would post the last three assignments the boys have completed. I am very proud of their progress. Ben, especially, has shown such improvement with Andrew Pudewa's program! Below are their assignments for "Pearls," "The Boy and the Nuts," and "The Cock and the Eagle."
