Supplies: All patterned paper is Die Cuts with a View [striped (Flower Shower Spring Stack); grid ( Dots, Stripes & Plaid Stack ); blue dot , banner and happy birthday sentiment ( The Celebration Stack ).  Chipboard alphabet stickers (American Crafts Thickers); punch (Stampin' Up); gift tags (Hallmark Expressions # 3J0B52R -- 25 cents for pack of 4 at Big Lots); font (LuzSans - Book); orange trim (Joanns dollar spot); jute (Walmart) I found the cute orange and blue gift cards at Big Lots -- 25 cents for a pack of four! :) The journaling for this was easy because I just copied my blog entry into MS Word and tweaked it.

I made this layout tonight, but it documents Valentine's Day 2010. I had a lot of fun making this! All papers except the red print are Scenic Route while the red print is October Afternoon from this Schoolhouse paper pad . I used various diecuts from The Girls' Paperie by Margie "On Holiday" and alpha stickers from Making Memories and October Afternoon (Mini Market).   Plastic baseball charm is Doodlebug.  I sewed the banner on with a zig zag stitch in red.  Many of the elements are raised with foam squares.

I thought I'd share a quick photo of how I store my Project Life items.  I took all of the decorative and journaling cards out of their cute boxes (which I saved because you never know when you might need a cute box) and placed them into this plastic bin.  I organized them by type.  I also placed in this bin: the arrow and days of the week stickers my window punch my corner punch my journaling pen Post-it notes (to place on photo sleeve with journaling or photo idea before I put the actual on in the sleeve). ink pad letter stamps Tombow adhesive runner

I am finally caught up!  Now, it should be easy to just do a little each day.  I have already printed my photos for today and inserted them into this week's photo sleeve. :) You can see I added a digital layout because I had so many bedroom renovation photos.  I just printed this out and inserted it into a page protector.  Here's a better picture of the digital page.  I am NOT a digital scrapbooker, though I dabble with hyrid, so don't expect much. :)  I used a layered template from Cathy Zielske.

I've been trying to catch up on Project Life.  I chose the turquoise one which can be bought here .  Though I have added some photos beyond the third week, I can officially say the first three weeks are complete. I just love using a spiral-bound album because I can add so many items so easily.  In photo 8, I added a Krispy Kreme hat simply by hole-punching it.  In photo 9, I created a text box in MS Word, added my journaling and printed it on cardstock.  I then sewed up a page protector and cut off the extra, so I essentially made a custom-size photo sleeve.  Photos 10-12 show extra pages added -- one is a math worksheet that Ben excelled in, while the other two hold letters from the Lego company. I also love little pockets in these photo sleeves because I can easily add receipts and other bits of life in them. Journaling reads: We attended many performances at the Peninsula Community Theatre in Newport News. I bought season passes from 2005-2008. The drive and traffic became a hassle, so I stopped subscribing. All of the shows were musicals, and we were delighted by all of them (save one). Some of our favorites were: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Tailor of Gloucester, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, The Big Adventures of Stuart Little, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book, The Song of Mulan, Stone Soup, and The Velveteen Rabbit. Oh, and the small theatre photos were found on the internet using Google. Okay.  I'm cheating.  I love how easy the BH&G Photo Templates from the Scrapbooks Etc. website are to use.  It makes editing and printing my photos so easy.  Then, I just add paper and embellishments.  I like not having to crop photos into random sizes, rather I can resize them in PSE.  The only problem?  My printer is starting to run low on ink.  GASP!  I actually scrapbooked four layouts this weekend.  Yeehaw! This is one of my first hybrid projects. I used Ali Edwards' 8.5x11 hand-drawn grid and her photo overlay. You can buy these at www.designerdigitals.com. I also used her "today" brush from her Everyday Beauty kit. Stamps are Fontwerks "Travelogue" by Karen Russell (cs-926) and Technique Tuesday "Bits & Pieces" by Ali Edwards (AEBP). Paper is KI Memories "Color Theory - yellow." This was fun, but my Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 program encountered an error, so I Googled a solution and ended up having to rename a preferences file before I could stitch the two pages together to make one layout. ugh Did I mention we actually did language arts, math, science and history today? I also made a pot of chili, cleaned out the garage, and organized my Christmas ribbon. Can you say ready to relax? ha ha

The other day, I was organizing my paper (which I keep in resealable bags from http://www.clearbags.com/ ), and I found some pictures and papers I had chosen for the pictures in one of these bags. I had forgotten to scrapbook these with the last batch of scrapping I did months ago. So, tonight I decided to just do it! It's very simple, but I'm all about simple scrapbooking these days.
